2023 NCAA DI The Season: Brown

With the recent hire of former NCAA champion Jordan Leen as head coach, I think we're going to see tremendous changes for Brown wrestling. In fact, I think we'll see them immediately. I have a lot of faith in his abilities as a coach & with Jesse Degaldo (another NCAA champ) & T.J. Dudley assisting him, the future is bright. Brown only had two EIWA place-winners last season & I think they will have at least four this season.

133 lbs
Adrian Hunter OR Nicky Cabanillas

Looks to be a good wrestle-off here at 133 lbs for the Bears.  Adrian Hunter moves up to 133 after competing at 125 last season. 11-11 on the season he had a win over Bryce West of Northern Illinois.  Nicky Cabanillas was 8th in the EIWA.

141 lbs
Justin Bierdumpful

Plagued by injuries nearly all of last season, I would say Justin Bierdumpful gives the Bears not only a likely top 8 EIWA finisher but also a plausible NCAA qualifier. If healthy, he's most certainly top 33 in the nation material.  He owns a victory over McKenzie Bell of Rider.

149 lbs
Blake Saito

Blake Saito gives the Bears another hope for NCAA qualification. While he's a bit inconsistent, at times he looked brilliant last season.  A 4-1 victory over Penn's Anthony Artalona sticks out.

165 lbs
Harrison Trahan

Another Bear to look out for this season is sophomore Harrison Trahan. He earned impressive victories over Ricky Stamm of Hofstra as well as Stoney Buell of Purdue last season.
