There will be some mighty big shoes to fill for the Golden Bears this season, but they have some returning talent on their roster that are more than capable of doing so. Gone is 2019 NCAA Division II champion/2022 NCAA Division II runner-up Andrew Dunn, as is three time NCAA Division II qualifier Collin Wickramartna, Super Region I champion Brian Kennerly & Matt Wilde who was 5th in the Super Region I last season. As said, that's a lot of talent replace, but as illustrated below they have the talent to replace it.
141 lbs K.J. Fernstermacher |
From Pittsburgh to West Virginia to Kutztown, K.J. Fernstermacher nearly made the NCAA Division II tournament last season when he finished 4th at the Super Region I.
165 lbs Ethan Baney |
A tough sophomore who darn near made the NCAA Division II championships last season when he finished 4th at the Super Region I on a 15-7 record, look for Ethan Baney to step it up for the Golden Bears this season.
184 lbs Matt Weinberg |
Sophomore Matt Weinberg more than earned his freshman of the year status last year when he won a Super Region I title. Look for him to be a leader among the Golden Bears.
Just got word that Kennerly migh be back from a very good source. Keep eyes open if so. He's a former Super 32 Champion.
