2023 NCAA Division II The Season: King (TN)

The Tornadoes do lose some talent from last season but they also return a lot of talent as well.  Gone is two time NCAA DII qualifier Cade Ridley, as well as qualifier Dallas Boone & Rylee Billings who qualified in 2021.  Back are two qualifiers & two more who are more than capable of qualification themselves.  On a side note, have to point out that all four are from non-traditional wrestling states & in terms of growing the sport & seeing it spread, that's pretty cool.

133 lbs
Franky Medina

Going 15-11 Tennessee native Franky Medina darn near made the NCAA Division II championships last season when he finished 4th at the Super Region II.

141 lbs
Christian Small

The Georgia native was 5th in the nation in 2021 as a freshman but missed out on NCAA Division II All American honor last season when he lost in the R12.  A two time Super Region II runner-up, Small was also 6th at the Midwest Classic.

149 lbs
Demetri Teddlie

What is the Louisiana native looking for in this picture? My guess would be after finishing as the Super Region II runner-up last season, a Super Region II title, as well as NCAA Division II All American honors. Teddlie had a 22-12 record last season.

174 lbs
Dallin Ewart

Unfortunately injury got the best of Utah native Dallin Ewart last season when he had to medical forfeit out of the Super Region II. A 9-2 record last season, there's no reason to think that Dallin Ewart will finish anything less than top 6 at the Region this year. Matter of fact, NCAA Division II qualification is not out of the question.

  1. Add in 2x NAIA qualifier at Hwt Jacob Telles to the room. Hwt could be pretty competitive. Has rs plus 3 still, so I can see that option.
