2023 NCAA Division II The Season: Gannon

The Knights look to have a tremendous season as they return six of eight NCAA Division II qualifiers, two of which were All Americans, as the other four were one match shy of All American.  They have a team that is very capable of putting six wrestlers on the award stand this year.  Gone is Super Region I champion Jacob Dunlop, a four time NCAA Division II qualifier who as 8th in 2021 as well as fellow four time NCAA Division II qualifier Freddie Nixon who was 3rd in the nation this past season.

133 lbs
Chase McLaughlin

A sophomore full of a team of seniority, if McLaughlin continues to learn from his elders, his future will be right as well. Already a Super Region I place-winner, he was 6th last season.

149 lbs
Dominic Means

Senior Dominic Means nearly made All American status last season when he finished one match shy after placing 3rd at the Super Region I. Also a qualifier in 2020, he is a two time Midwest Classic Place winner, having placed 5th in 2021 as he earned an individual title last season.

157 lbs
Nick Young

Nick Young enters his final season as a Knight with a long list of accomplishments. Thus far he has been 6th-1st-3rd-2nd in the Super Region I, 6th in the Midwest Classic & a match away from All American status at the NCAA Division II tournament.

165 lbs
Evan Fisler          OR   Alex Farenchak

If you are looking for a good wrestle-off, here.you.go.  Senior Evan Fisler was an All American last season placing 6th in the NCAA DII's. A two time qualifier altogether he was 2nd in the Super Region I in 2020 & 3rd last year.  Farenchak, is a two time qualifier himself, a runner-up in 2021. He has Super Region I finishes of 2nd & 1st, as well as a 4th place finish from the Midwest Classic in 2020. This is going to be a good match.

174 lbs
Joseph Petrella     OR          Luigi Yates

This could potentially turn out to be a pretty good wrestle-off as well. Joseph Petrello, a sophomore had a very good showing last season as a freshman. Winning a Super Region I title, he finished one match shy of All American status & he had a 7th place showing at the Midwest Classic.  Yates, was an NCAA Division II qualifier in 2020.

184 lbs
Cam Page

A two time NCAA Division II qualifier, Cam Page finished one match shy of All American status last season.

197 lbs
Joel Leise

Like Nick Young, Joel Leise enters his final season with a long list of accomplishments. A three time NCAA Division II qualifier, he was 7th in the nation this past season. At the Super Region I, he has thus far finished 5th-3rd-2nd-2nd.
