The Beavers return three Super Region Place-winners from last season all of whom have the talent & ability to be NCAA DII qualifiers this season.
California native Oscar Nellis goes into his final year as a Beaver having earned a 5th place finish at the Super Region V last season.
Pretty much repeat what I just said. Another California native going into this senior season who placed 5th at the Super Region V is Shad Mitwalli.
Just a bad Super Region V tournament last season, that's all. Sucks, but it happens. Nathan Baca is for sure a top six wrestler in the Region. He'll prove that this season. He stuck Mary's R12'er Braydon Huber in just thirty three seconds & he also had a 3-1 victory over Ben Durocher of UW-Parkside. He'll earn a Region medal this season.
Here's where things get interesting. You have two outstanding athletes that compete on both the gridiron and the mat. Both Jordan Will & Jake Swirple are also members of the Beaver football team. Will an NCAA DII qualifier in 2019 was 5th in the Super Region V last season. Swirple himself went 13-0 on the season, this included a 3-1 sudden victory over Will. Can you say excellent wrestle-off? Swirple also defeated Gerardo Jaime of Mary last season as well.
