With the addition of both Carter Happel and Matt McDonough to the coaching staff, it is inevitable that the future of Ram wrestling is bright. With a guy like McDonough in the room in terms of not only wrestling skill & physical ability but more so mental toughness, we may even see an eventual resurgence of glory years of the late 1940's and early 1950's. I predict that we're onto the beginning of something that years from now we'll tradition.
165 lbs Casey Allen |
Not everyone in NCAA Division III wrestling is going to take an advantage of the extra season that COVID-19 provided, but Casey Allen is one of them. A two time Regional Place-Winner who has thus far been 7th & 4th, he will look for a third medal as well as his first qualification to the national tournament.
197 lbs Treyten Steffen |
Another wrestler I think we'll see some good things out of this season will be Treyten Steffen. The junior went 26-21 last season with a 5th place finish at the Lower Midwest Regional. He simply needs to hone in on his strengths and skills while fixing his weaknesses. The potential to make the W side much larger than the L side is quite good.
