The Knights lost two of their best wrestlers due to graduation last season but the one thing that Marian has a proven track record for is improvements year to year out of their wrestlers. Same Osho who was 3rd in the NAIA & Jack Servies who was 6th, both earned their first All American honors as seniors last year. Bailey Moore, a four time NAIA qualifier came within a match of earning his. I'll also throw in a word for Trey McCartney a tough kid who finished 3rd in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, a match away from NAIA qualification. Four NAIA qualifiers return, with two others who are more than capable of qualifying this season as well.
125 lbs Anthony Hughes |
Only a sophomore & already a WHAC champion, Anthony Hughes has a bright future ahead of him. He'll look for a second conference title & to improve on his 1-2 NAIA finish this season.
141 lbs Logan Wagner |
Wagner another talented sophomore took runner-up honors within the WHAC last season. He too has the potential for a bright future.
141 Aunde Beatty |
Aunde Beatty has been 4th the past two seasons within the WHAC. I think the junior breaks through this season & makes his first NAIA tournament appearance.
149 lbs Seth Johnson |
I was very impressed with Seth Johnson's improvement last season. 5-6 as a freshman & 2-4 as a sophomore to a 3rd place finish within the WHAC & a 2-2 showing at the NAIA national tournament. That's some serious improvement. I'm anxious to see how much more he's improved for his senior season.
165 lbs Elliott Rodgers |
Junior Elliott Rodgers will definitely be a leader for the Knights this season. A WHAC champion & 6th in the nation last season, he is the sole returning All American on the squad.
165 lbs Jordan Fulks |
3rd within the WHAC, a match away from NAIA qualification last season, I believe sophomore Jordan Fulks should qualify this season.
