2023 NAIA The Season: Reinhardt

The Eagles completed dominated the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) last season taking 12 wrestlers into the tournament and placing every one of them in the finals. Nine won conference titles & of the three who finished as runner-ups, all three only had losses to opponents on their own team. To say that Reinhardt owns the AAC is an understatement.  With that said, they did half of their starting lineup to graduation last season.  Gone is two time All American Kolby Milner who after taking 7th in 2020 was 4th last season. Cole Tenety who after placing 8th as a freshman in 2019, finally made it back on the award stand with a 6th place finish. Also gone is two time All American Trent Leon who placed 6th in 2020 & 8th in 2021, who unfortunately did not place this past season. Other NAIA qualifiers including Mike Land, two time qualifier Cole Luallen & three time qualifier Jacob Henderson are also gone. Returning are 6 NAIA qualifiers, one of which was an All American.  May I add that while not the entire lineup is from Georgia or nearby, a majority of them are.

133 lbs
Ivan Arguello

Sophomore Ivan Arguello won his first AAC title last season as a freshman. He will look to earn a second conference title as well as a second NAIA qualification this season.

141 lbs
Dawson Bates

Making the AAC finals last season as a freshman & then going 2-2 at the NAIA's, sophomore Dawson Bates will look to win a conference title and improve on his NAIA finish this year.

149 lbs
Avry Mutschler

Michigan native and Kent State transfer Avry Mutschler had himself a good season last year as a freshman. An AAC runner-up finish, an NAIA qualification & an overall record of 14-10. He'll look to improve in all areas this season.

157 lbs
Trevor Burdick

Of all of the talented freshmen on the Eagle wrestling team, Trevor Burdick had the most successful season. An AAC title & a 5th place finish at the NAIA championships, Burdick was 20-8 overall. This year he will look for a second conference title & his second All American honor.

165 lbs
Matt Jenkins

One of two seniors returning from last year's squad Matt Jenkins was one match shy of earning All American honors last season. He will look to earn his first top 8 placing in his last season as an Eagle.

HWT
Nic Jarvis

Another senior who will look to earn his first All American honor this season is three time NAIA qualifier Nic Jarvis. The Georgia native went 24-11 on the season last year, winning an AAC title.
