2023 NAIA The Season: Oklahoma City

The Stars lost a few of their top wrestlers from last season in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) champions Jon McGrowan & Chase Vincent as well as SAC runner-up Easton Rendleman. However they also return four NAIA qualifiers, two of which were  All Americans last season.

125 lbs
Cooper Mahaffey

Cooper Mhaffey had a pretty respectable season last year as a sophomore. He went 17-16 on the year making the SAC finals & qualifying for the NAIA championships. I expect to see him add more to the wins column of his record this season & make another appearance at the NAIA's.

141 lbs
Cade Manion

A transfer of Little Rock, Cade Manion had himself an outstanding freshman campaign, winning a SAC title & taking 4th place at the NAIA championships. He is one of two wrestlers that stands a high probability of become a four time All American in 2025 for the Stars.

149 lbs
Keegan Luton

Another sophomore who had an outstanding freshman run for the Stars was Keegan Luton who along with winning a SAC title and taking 7th place honors at the NAIA championships went an impressive 30-5 on the season. Part of the one-two punch at 141 and 149, along with Manion he could mark what is to my knowledge the first time Oklahoma City would crown two four time All Americans in the same season in 2025.  Talented wrestler.

157 lbs
Drake Vannoy

I think we see some improvements out of Drake Vannoy this season. Now that McGowan has graduated, Vannoy will be the leader at 157 lbs. I think he'll improve on his 19-13 record & have better showings both within the conference & within the NAIA.
