2023 NAIA The Season: Lourdes

This will be a rebuilding year for the Gray Wolves as Lourdes graduated a lot of talent this past season. Gone is Three time NAIA All American/four time Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) finalist Nickalas Henneman. 4th as a freshman, 5th as a junior & 7th last season, he will be missed.  Blake Montrie who finished one match shy of NAIA qualification last season, a WHAC finalist in 2021 who made the NAIA round of 12 as well as two time NAIA qualifiers Richard Jackson & Alec Moore-Nash are also gone. Lourdes will rely on three returners to lead the team this season.

125 lbs
Alex Slattman

"Stick with it" a mentality we instill within our athletes in a lot of ways can describe a guy like Alex Slattman. His first season as a full time starter, he finished 4th at the WHAC tournament & nearly qualified for the NAIA championships. I believe he'll earn that qualification this season.

174 lbs
Noah Clary

Noah Clary was a match away from placing as a freshman, 8th in the nation as a sophomore & then once again a match from placing last year as a junior.  It should be noted that in both is freshman & junior seasons he made the blood round after a first round loss. When he took 8th, he had came back from a second round loss. Talk about tenacity the guy knows how to come back & wrestle tough through the consolations.  Along with looking for a second All American honor he will also be contending for his first WHAC title after finishing as the runner-up the past two seasons.

184 lbs
William Speight

Junior William Speight took 3rd in the WHAC last season & qualified for the NAIA championships. He will look to once again have a good showing within the conference & qualify again for the NAIA's.
