2023 NCAA DIII The Season: Wabash

*Covid-19 has made the process of knowing where everyone is eligibility wise about darn near impossible. There's a chance that some of the wrestlers I mention have already graduated and won't be coming back this season. Some have the option of a fifth year and won't take it. I'm not an insider, so I can only guess.*

Like I have said for some of the other collegiate wrestling teams in Indiana, Wabash must have missed the memo that Indiana is a "basketball" state because this small institution in the Hoosier State is one of the best wrestling programs in NCAA Division III. The Little Giants had three All Americans last season, two of which were runner-ups.

125 lbs
Carlos Champagne

If Carlos Champagne returns this season for what will be his super-senior year, he will be going for his third NCAA Division III All American honor. 7th in the nation in 2019, he was the NCAA DIII runner-up last season. An Indiana native, he went 22-5.

133 lbs
Blake McGee

Sophomore Blake McGee finished one match shy of NCAA DIII qualification last season when he took 4th place honors at the Central Region. Going 26-10 on the year, I believe he'll qualify this season.

141 lbs
Daniel Uribe

Going 19-9 last season, Daniel Uribe qualified for his first NCAA DIII championships after taking 3rd at the Central Region.

149 lbs
Alex Barr

Like Champagne, Alex Barr is another Little Giant who has the eligibility of taking a 5th season but may or may not do so. Going 23-5 on the season he had an outstanding showing at the NCAA DIII championships taking a 3rd place finish.

165 lbs
Kyle Hatch

Like Champagne and Barr, Kyle Hatch is another Little Giant who will be a super senior if he decides to wrestle this season.  He actually outdid himself at the national tournament taking NCAA Runner-up honors after finishing 3rd in the Central Region. He was 31-2 overall last year.
