Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their best = Western Oregon

Today the Wolves of Western Oregon are an NCAA Division II institution that competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.  At the time they had a wrestling program they were NAIA & competed in the Oregon Conference. 


Richard Edwards
190 lbs 

After finishing fifth at the 1970 NAIA tournament, Edwards won back to back NAIA titles in 1971 & 1972. 


Kevin Morse

During his time as a Wolf, Morse won four Oregon Conference titles & three regional titles going 64-5.  He later taught & coached wrestling in Texas. 


Roger Rolen
134 lbs 

Rolen was a two time NAIA All American during his time at Western Oregon. He took third in 1977 & fifth in 1978.  

Post college he took over as head coach at Oregon City High School. He lead his team to 17 top 10 finishes at the state tournament, producing 82 state place-winners & twelve state champions.  he was named Coach of the Year in the conference six times. 

Mike Carey
177 lbs


Carey finished third at the 1990 NAIA tournament.
