Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Lake Forest

Located a little less than an hour north of Chicago, Wrestling was brought to Lake Forest in the 1955-1956 season & came to an end after the 1974-1975 season.

Bruce Harris

Harris came to Lake Forest from University High school in Ohio.  During his time as a Forester he was quite busy.  A member of the football team, the wrestling team & the tennis team, he also went out of school plays when he wasn't busy with athletics.  If there weren't enough, he managed to earn a GPA that got him into the honor society.   As a wrestler he put together a career record of 81-6.

Post college he coached wrestling, soccer & baseball at the youth level while heading Conferon a meeting/planning company that at one time was ranked #1 in the United States.

Don Ford

A graduate of Belvidere High school, Don Ford's best sport was baseball but he didn't do to bad as a wrestler either.  He went 25-6 in his final season.   After graduating with a medical degree, he opened up a Family practice in Geneso & was a team physician for the local high school where he also coached the girl's softball team.

Rich Kolowski

During his time at LaSalle Peru high school Kolowski was a star on the football field & basketball court.  The Lake Forest football coach thought that wrestling would do Kolowski more good, so he gave up the court for the mat.  On the gridiron, Kolowski played both offense & defense never missing a single play in four years of varsity football.

Post college he went on to play professionally for both the Omaha Mustangs & the Kansas City Chiefs.

Mike Perusky

Perusky finished third in the state championships for Waukegan high school.  He qualified for the NCAA Division II championships for Lake Forest in 1971.
