I tell you what, it's bittersweet for me to write about Campbellsville Wrestling. Don't get me wrong, I'm pumped & thrilled to be looking forward to another successful year of Tiger Wrestling, but it saddens me to know that I won't be seeing certain names this year due to graduation.
Shad Slone, what a treat it was to watch him compete over the years. Mark this down as it is something to be noted and something to be celebrated he was THE ONLY wrestler in the entire NAIA to be crowned a four-time All-American in 2026. 7th-6th-3rd-7th, no one else stood upon the award stand for the fourth time last season.
How could you not be a fan of Izaeah Beavers? A two-time Mid-South Conference (MSC) champion, the seeding committee bet against this kid three years in a row & he silenced them all three times. Never seeded to finish All-American, & he brought home 8th-8th-6th the past three seasons.
Things didn't end on the note they should have for either Brice Parks or for Nick Moore, but a wrestling career isn't just measured in what happens in the last three days of your final season. Both Parks & Moore won a lot of important matches for the Tigers, and their absence will be felt this year as well.
133 Wyatt Hinton
Replacing a guy like Izaeah Beavers will not be easy, but Wyatt Hinton looks to make like Clark Kent & take the job. He was 4th in a loaded GVU Open last season.
149 Nick Yancey
A three-time MSC champion, Nick Yancey looks to join Shad Slone as a rare four-time NAIA All-American in 2027. Thus far the Florida native has NAIA finishes of 3rd-7th-5th. He won the Pepsi Patriot Open last year as well.
Antwuan Burns 157
Two-time MSC champion Antwuan Burns heads into his final season of competition.
Jasitin Kubwimana 165
Jasitin Kubwimana won titles at both the Millikin Open & the MSC last season, taking 7th in the NAIA nation.
174 Kaiden Bates
Shad Slone left awful big shoes to fill at 174 lbs, but Kaiden Bates looks to fill them. 3rd at the Pepsi Patriot Open, he was 2nd at Millikin.
197 Ashton Boswell
The Memphis, Tennessee native took 5th at GVU, 3rd at MSC, and won the Pepsi Patriot Open.
