The Middle Atlantic Conference was founded in 1912. The first wrestling tournament that I have been able to find was in 1941. I think there is more information regarding Middle Atlantic Conference wrestling between 1941 & 1963, but I haven't been able to find it yet.
In 1974 Middle Atlantic Conference wrestling split into two divisions. A University Division and a College Division. In 1976, the Middle Atlantic Conference became strictly NCAA Division III Schools.
Today the Middle Atlantic Conference is split into two conferences. The Commonwealth and the Freedom. In the Freedom conference Delaware Valley, Kings & Wilkes still sponsor wrestling. IN the Commonwealth, Lycoming and Messiah still have wrestling. There is still a Middle Atlantic Conference tournament held each year with these five teams. This year's tournament (2020) will be held at Lycoming.
