Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Team Titles won by Schools that no Longer Have wrestling

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association formed in 1888, sponsored wrestling from the 1969-1970 season through the 1983-1984 season.

The 1980 tournament was won by Kalamazoo who no longer has a wrestling program.

All of the other teams that won MIAA conference titles today have wrestling teams, although they did drop for a spell in their history.

Adrian who won the 69', 70', 71' Championships had wrestling from 1968-1969 (Yes they won the conference team title their first year of wrestling) through 1983-1984.   They reinstated the wrestling program for the 2015-2016 season.

Alma has had wrestling from 1968-1969 through 1983-1984.  They won the 1981 & 1982 MIAA team title.  They reinstated their wrestling program in the 2011-2012 season.

And the best news of all is that the MIAA began sponsoring wrestling again in last season!!!! (2018-2019)  The title was won by Olivet.
