Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Minnesota Morris

When Minnesota-Morris dropped both their men's & women's wrestling team in 2003-2004 it was a true shame as one of the strongest proponents (as well as one of the first) of women's wrestling being added as a varsity sport to universities & colleges was now gone.   

In men's wresting the cougars won Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference titles in 1979, 1980, 1981 & 1982.  

Dennis Kolowski 

After wrestling for the Cougars, Kolowski went on to a decorated international career that included a World silver in 1987, a world bronze in 1988 & an Olympic Silver in 1992. 

Sara McMann

Current UFC fighter Sara McMann wrestled for the Cougars.  She was also a member of the theatre.  Post her collegiate career & before her UFC career, McMann had a successful career on the international scene.  This included a World Silver in 2003, an Olympic Silver in 2004, an World Bronze in 2005 & a World Bronze in 2007. 

Sally Roberts

Post wrestling for the Cougars, Roberts had success on the international level.  She won bronze medals at both the 2003 & 2005 World Championships.
