Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Fairleigh-Dickinson

This one is a bit complicated.  Fairleigh-Dickinson has different campuses, two of which have athletics.  One is NCAA Division I & the other is NCAA Division III.  The Division I school is known as the Knights & the Division III school is known as the Devils.  From what I know they both had wrestling programs.  I believe they both started & ended at the same time.   1955-1956 is what I have for the first year of varsity wrestling & 1989-1990 is what I have for the last year of varsity wrestling.

Matt Ghaffari

Ghaffari would spend most of his collegiate career at Cleveland State but he did begin his career at Fairleigh-Dickinson.  He'd go on to have a decorated international career which included a World Silver in 1991, a World Bronze in 1995, an Olympic Silver in 1996 & a World Silver in 1998.

Robert Gras
147, 157 lbs

Going 46-7 during his career, accumulating 21 falls, Gras won Metropolitan Championships in 1960 & 1961.

Ted Levine

A two time NCAA Qualifier, Levine was a runner-up at the Metropolitan Championships in 1971, winning a title in 1972.  He later coached at Fairleigh-Dickinson.

Stewart Puzansky

In four years of varsity wrestling, Stewart Puzansky never lost a match during the regular season.   He won three Metropolitan Championships in 1969, 1970 & 1971.   Post his collegiate career he won gold medals in both wrestling & judo at the Maccabiah Games.

Erich Rudolph

Rudolph went 49-7 during his career.  In his senior season of 1958-1959, the first year of the Metropolitan Championships, he won a title.
