Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Albright

A small college located in the community of Reading, strategically placed between Harrisburg & Philadelphia, Albright had a wrestling program up through the 2005-2006 season.  


Fran Hatton

Hatton was a member of the football, wrestling & baseball teams during his time at Albright.  As a football player he was an honorable mention All American in 1932.  Post his collegiate career he played semi-pro football before turning to a coaching career that lasted 40 years. 


Gary Sheeler

Sheeler was an all around athlete that had success in various sports during his time at Albright.  As a football player he helped both the 1960 & 1961 Middle Atlantic Conference championship teams to undefeated seasons.  He was named All MAC both seasons.  As a wrestler he had winning records & in track he won the 1962 MAC title in the shot put. 


Richard Horst
177 lbs 

Also an offensive guard on the football team, Horst won a MAC title in 1966.  He later coached at Albright for a while before turning his focus to high school wrestling.  He coached at both Wyomissing & Governor Mifflin.
