Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Geneseo State

Part of the State University of New York system (SUNY) Geneseo State at one time had a wrestling program.  As to when it started & when it ended, I do not know.  What I can tell you is some interesting facts about a couple of their wrestlers.

Alan Solomon

Despite missing his senior season due to injury, Solomon had a stellar career for the Knights.  Going 70-17 in three years, he was fourth, third, runner-up at the Regional tournament.

Al "Buzzo" Bruno

Although Buzzo Bruno took fourth at the SUNY-Athletic Conference in 1970, his real love in life was music.  He played Trumpet in the school orchestra & he started a Quintet while at Geneseo State.  Leaving college before graduation he opened up a music store, near campus that to this day he still owns and operates.
