Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Los Angeles Pierce

 Located in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, the Brahmas of Los Angeles Pierce had a wrestling program up through the 1986-1987 season. 


Reed
177 lbs 

Unable to find a first name, Reed won a CCCAA title in 1968. 


Bill Kalivas
167 lbs 

Kalivas placed sixth at the CCCAA tournament in 1972 for the Brahmas.  He later transferred to Cal State Bakersfield where he took fifth place at the NCAA Division II tournament in 1974.   

After his college career was over he coached at Bakersfield Community College where he put together a dual record of 194-48.  While there he also coached golf. 

John Phillips
126 lbs  


After finishing as the state runner-up for Rolling Hills High School, Phillips took fifth for the Brahmas in 1974.  He then went on to a career in coaching which included Cal State Bakersfield as well as Irvine High school & Artesia High School.  He produced twenty state qualifiers, eleven of which were place-winners. 

Ricky Gillyard


A graduate of San Fernando High school,  Gillyard took fifth place honors at the 1978 CCCAA tournament.  That season he went 29-14, securing 13 falls. 


Dennis Ralli
134 lbs 

A graduate of Thousand Oaks High School, Ralli was a two time CCCAA place-winner for the Brahmas.  He was seventh in 1986 & fourth in 1987.   He later went on to found OA Baseball apparel.
