Delgado came to Gavilan from Gilroy High School where he would later coach after his collegiate wrestling career was over. Delgado took sixth place at the 1994 CCCAA tournament. He then transferred to San Francisco State.

Another graduate of Gilroy HIgh School, Mar was a three time state place-winner while in high school finishing sixth, third, fourth his last three years of high school. Competing for Gavilan, Mar was seventh in 1993 & fifth in 1994 at the CCCAA tournament.
