Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Santiago Canyon

 There are two campuses for the Rancho Santiago Community College District & to my understanding Santiago Canyon in Orange was the one that at one time had a wrestling program.  I don't believe Santa Ana ever did.  


Arnold Alpere
134 lbs 

Alpere won a CCCAA title in 1986. 

Ryan Owings
158 

A graduate of Laguna Hills High school, Owings took back to back CCCAA fourth place finishes in 1989 & 1990. 

Jason Booth
118 lbs 

Booth finished in seventh place at the high school state championships for San Clemente before coming to Santiago Canyon.  He was seventh in the CCCAA in 1990 & third in 1991. 

Brian "Yuck" Tomazic 

The late Brian "Yuck" Tomazic came to Santiago Canyon from El Dorado High school.  Competing for the Hawks he was fourth at the 1991 CCCAA before winning a CCCAA title in 1992. 

Dave Neidringhaus
126, 134 lbs 

Neidringhaus was a two time CCCAA runner-up in 1992 & 1993. 



Matt Padgett

Padgett was a two time high school state place winner for Canyon High School, taking sixth in 1991 & third in 1992 before coming to Santiago Canyon.  He won a CCCAA title for the Hawks in 1993 before transferring to Lindenwood to finish up his collegiate career. 

Terry Tuzzolino
177 lbs  

Tuzzolino was a two time CCCAA runner-up for the Hawks in 1994 & 1995.  He then transferred to San Francisco State University where he won a NCAA Division II championship. 

Alfred Frausto


Frausto a graduate of Edison High school was a two time CCCAA champion in 1995 & 1996.
