JT1Wrestle Takes A Look at Stanford 2026-2027

8, count em, 8 All-American contenders for the Cardinal this year! I wish we could shove it in the faces of Dr. Micah Parker, Scott R Wetherbee, and other horrific athletic directors the way we have been able to shove it in the face of Bernard Muir. He tried to get rid of us at Stanford & the Cardinal responded by having some of the best & most competitive programs they have ever had. If only this could be the case every time for every school that faces such challenge. It puts me in a good mood to know that as hard as he tried to kill Stanford wrestling, it now thrives stronger than ever.

Take a look at what returns....

125
Nico Provo

What a rewarding season it was for Nico Provo.  2nd in the ACC, he finished 3rd in both the DI nation & at CKLV.

133
Tyler Knox

The 2026 JT1Wrestle Sportsmanship Award winner, Tyler Knox returns for his third season of Collegiate eligibility looking to become a three-time All-American. Thus far the Massachusetts native has placed 8th & 6th in the DI nation.  4th & 2nd in the ACC, he'll look to win a conference title as well.  Although he did not place at last year's CKLV, he'll also look for his third medal there as he's been 5th-5th.

141
Jack Consiglio

16 wins on the season, Jack Consliglio won an ACC title & finished 3rd at CKLV.

149
Aden Valencia

Smith, Churella, Brands, Banach, Perry, Peery, sure have been a lot of great family names in the sport of wrestling, & Valencia is one of them.  Of the many sensational freshmen of the '25-'26 season, Aden Valencia cemented his name among them.  3rd in the ACC & 5th at CKLV, he won the NCAA DI national tournament.

157
Dan Cardenas

R12-4th-R12, Dan Cardenas is looking to recapture the DI All-American status he earned in Y2 of competition.  Last season he won 20 matches, winning an ACC title & taking 3rd at CKLV.

165
Hunter Garvin Or E.J. Parco Or Grigor Cholokyan

Stanford sure has a lot of talent here at 165 lbs.  I'd like to think that between these three outstanding wrestlers, that maybe one could go 174.  Hate to know that two would be reserves for the post season.

Iowan Hunter Garvin is the forerunner. While unfortunately injured in 2026, he has back-to-back 6th place All American finishes in the DI nation in both 2024 & 2025.

E.J. Parco did an excellent job filling in for Garvin last season.  Really stepped up and stepped in to take 3rd at the ACC's & finish one match shy of being an All-American himself.

Grigor Cholokyan was an NCAA DI qualifier for the Cardinal in 2025.

184
Abe Wojcikiewicz

Give me a month, I might be able to pronounce that.  17 wins on the season, he was 3rd in the ACC & one match shy of being top 8 in Vegas.

197
Angel Posado

Shaggy & Juice Newton's favorite wrestler won 20 matches last year, taking 2nd at the ACC & 6th at CKLV.
