The first thing I want to say about Lander, is that last year they had one of the greatest, most talented & special group of seniors that I have seen in the 35 years I have been watching this sport. They have some really good wrestlers come back, but those they graduated are going to be tough to replace. This was just a really special group of guys. Like the type that can be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a unit. The type that should be celebrated in special occasions in the years to come.
Kaden Kuenzi, an NCAA D2 qualifier in 2025 who finished 5th at Super Region II this past season.
James Joplin, a three-time NCAA D2 All-American, who went 4th-3rd-2nd at the national tournament. Certainly, listed as one of the best to not win a title during his career. 79 victories.
Isham Peace, a three-time NCAA D2 All-American who finished 6th in the D2 nation as a junior. 1st-1st-3rd at Super Region II & 8th at this year's Midwest Classic.
Elijah Lusk, 84 career wins & D2 All-American finishes of 8th-6th-6th.
David Hunsberger, one of the greatest NCAA D2 wrestlers of all time. A four-time Super Region II champion. A three-time NCAA D2 champion, who also finished 4th as a freshman. 1st-1st-2nd at the Midwest Classic & 122 wins.
Max Kiel, 1st-1st-2nd-1st at Super Region II & finishing 5th in the D2 nation this year.
Dylan Kohn, a West Virginia transfer, who finished off his career with a Super Region II title.
Marvelous Rutledge, 2nd & 3rd his last two years in Super Region II, with back-to-back 7th place finishes in the D2 nation. 86 career wins, & 6th at the Midwest Classic.
Noah Roulo, who was a backup this past season, but an NCAA D2 qualifier in 2025.
Is that a list of genuine talent or what?
Now before we move on to the talent that Lander has coming back, I want to note that Christian Davis, who was 3rd in the D2 nation back in 2025 has decided to test himself at NCAA Division I. He'll be competing for Little Rock this season.
George Maholtz certainly gave us a great preview of things to come when he placed 3rd at last year's Midwest Classic.
An NCAA D2 qualifier for the Bearcats last year, Reid Noble finished 2nd at Super Region II
Behind one of the best Bearcats ever last season, Ransom Randolph went 10-2 on the season with some good wins.
J.T. Spence went 13-3 last year while a reserve for Dylan Kohn.
Isaac Sheeren enters his junior season of competition now a two-time NCAA D2 qualifier with Super Region I finishes of 2nd & 1st.
