JT1Wrestle Takes A Look at Lock Haven 2026-2027

2026-2027 is going to be an interesting year for the Bald Eagles. Lock Haven loses three of their best wrestlers due to being out of eligibility and looking forward the crimson & white in many areas seem right on the cusp.

Gone are...

Gable Strickland, a three-time NCAA DI qualifier who went 1st-1st-3rd in his last three Mid-American Conference (MAC) appearances. 108 career wins.

Wyatt Henson, an absolute monster on top who won three MAC titles during his illustrious career, closing it out with an 8th place All-American finish.  105 career wins, 44 of which were technical falls. I'd like to know how many backpoints he tallied up in total.

Avery Bassett, a two-time NCAA DI qualifier who won over 100 matches during his career.

149
Lucas Kaputska

An MAC champion for the Bald Eagles last season, Lucas Kaputska went 25-6.

157
Nick Stampoulos

An NCAA DI qualifier for the crimson & white in 2024, Nick Stampoulos is one of those right on the cusp guys I'm referring to.  27 wins last season, one of which was over Gavin Drexler.

165
Nick Kunstek

I can see Nick Kunstek being an NCAA DI qualifier for Lock Haven this season.  Won 17 matches last year.

184
Sammy Gautreau

25 wins on the year, Sammy Gautreau finished 4th in an MAC bracket last year that took the top 3.  Among his wins, an impressive 14-8 victory over Ian Bush.

197
Tucker Hogan

I'd put Tucker Hogan in the same boat as Stampoulos.  An NCAA DI qualifier in 2025, he won 19 matches last year & should reclaim qualification in 2027.
