Northern Colorado joins the PAC-12 this season & while I know for a fact this a great thing for collegiate wrestling as a whole & the PAC-12, I also think this is going to be a good thing for the Bears.
The navy blue & gold loses Dom Serrano, who finished up his career at three-time NCAA DI qualifier. Unfortunately, did not have a great final BIG 12, but was 3rd & 1st there in 2024 & 2025 respectively. Was 2nd-2nd-1st at the Southern Scuffle.

| 125 Daniel Guanajuato |
16-5 on the season, Daniel Guanajuato had a 6-5 win over Conrad Hendriksen & a 10-1 major decision over Tucker Owens.

| 133 Carter Schmidt |
Ironically enough the former Oklahoma Sooner reminds me of another Sooner from years past. Christian Moody. A guy who gave you every reason in the world to think that he wouldn't, and then when the time came, HE DID. Many will concentrate on the fact that Schmidt entered the BIG 12's with a losing record & made the NCAA DI championships. What they may overlook, is that he also had a good Cliff Keen Las Vegas where he came within one match of a top 8 finish at DI's toughest in-season tournament. Is it simply a matter of adjusting to the DI competition & grind? Or is he going to be one of these guys that only shows up when it's time to dance?
