Four (Or More) Time State Champions in College = Nebraska

 

Herb Reese 

The Nebraska High School State championships had already been going on for nearly 20 years by the time their first four time State champion was crowned.  Herb Reese of Omaha Central won his titles between 44'-47'. He wrestled collegiately at Nebraska where he won back to back BIG 12 titles in 1950 & 1951. 

Fred Brown 

Winning four Nebraska High School State titles from 47'-50' for Omaha Tech, I don't believe that Fred Brown ever wrestled in college. 

Don Nordhues 

Winning four Nebraska State High School Championships for Greeley from 92'-95', Don Nordhues from what I could find did not compete collegiately. 

Ken Nordhues 

As did Cousin Don, Ken Nordhues won Nebraska State titles for Greeley from 92'-95'. From what I could find he did not compete collegiately either. 

Brand Metzler 

A four time State Champ for Omaha Westside from 97'-00', Brad Metzler competed for Stanford in college. 

Kasey Kohl  


A representative of Omaha Skutt Catholic, Kasey Kohl won Nebraska State titles from 97'-00'.  Collegiately he wrestled for Nebraska-Omaha. 

Jake Rucker 


Jake Rucker won four Nebraska High School State titles for Louisville from 97'-00'. From what I could find he did not wrestling in college. 

Brett Allgood 

Representing Bennington, Brett Allgood won four Nebraska High School State titles from 99'-02'.  Every bit as impressive at the collegiate level, Allgood won a NJCAA title his freshman season for Iowa Central & then followed that up with NCAA Division II titles for Nebraska-Kearney in 2006 & 2008. He finished 3rd in 2007. 

Toddy Meneely 

Winning four Nebraska High School State titles for Omaha Skutt Catholic from 99'-02', Todd Meneely began his career at Iowa. He then transferred to Nebraska-Omaha where he won NCAA DII titles in 07', 08' & 09'. 

Chris Oliver 

A four time Nebraska State High School champion from 01'-04' for Creighton Prep, Chris Oliver competed collegiately for Nebraska. He was 4th at the 2007 BIG 12 championships as a sophomore. 

 
Jason Katusin 


A four time Nebraska State High School champion for Platteview from 01'-04, from what I have found Jason Katusin did not wrestle in college. 

Matt Vacanti 

A four time High School State champion for Papillion La Vista from 03'-06', Matt Vancanti wrestled for the Huskers of Nebraska while in college.  During his sophomore season he was 8th at the CKLV & 4th in the BIG 12. 

Tyler Sackett 

Representing Omaha Skutt Catholic, Tyler Sackett won four Nebraska High School State titles from 05'-08'.  Collegiately he competed for Navy where in 2012 as a senior, he took 5th place at the EIWA's. 



Bryan Mejstrik 


A four time Nebraska High School State champion for Howells from 06'-09', I believe but have yet to confirm that Bryan Mejstrik may have wrestled collegiately at Nebraska. 

Ronald Coleman 

Representing Omaha North, Ronald Coleman won four Nebraska High School State titles from 07'-10'.  Collegiately he went the football route playing for Southeast Missouri State. 

Eric Coufal 

A four time Nebraska High School State champion for Howells from 06'-09', Eric Coufal competed collegiately for Nebraska. 
Thomas Gilman 

Representing Omaha Skutt Catholic, Thomas Gilman won Nebraska State High School Championships from 09'-12'. Collegiately he wrestled for the Iowa Hawkeyes where he had an outstanding career.  A three time All American, Gilman was a NCAA finalist in 2016 as a junior, taking 4th in 2015 as a sophomore & 3rd in 2017 as a senior.  A BIG 10 champion in 2017, he also won three Midlands titles. 

Andrew Riedy 

Winning four Nebraska State High School Championships for Grand Island from 09'-12', Andrew Riedy competed for Nebraska-Kearney in college. 

Brett Velasquez 

Representing Bennington, Brett Velasquez won four Nebraska High school State championships from 11'-14'. Collegiately he competed for St. Cloud State. A two time NCAA Division II All American, he took back to back 4th place finishes his junior & senior seasons of 2018 & 2019. He also won back to back Region titles during this time too. 

Jacob Sebade 

A four time Nebraska High School State champion from 11'-14' for Pender, Jacob Sebade may have competed for Nebraska collegiately. Not sure on that yet. 

Will Schany 

Competing for Blair, Will Schany won four Nebraska High School State titles from 11'-14'.  Collegiately he competed for Virginia where he was a two time NCAA qualifier in his junior & senior seasons. His senior season he also placed 8th at CKLV. 

JaVaughn Perkins 

Winning four Nebraska High School State titles for Omaha North from 11'-14', JaVaughn Perkins competed collegiately for Colorado State Pueblo. A two time NCAA Division II All American, he was 4th in 2017 & 2nd in 2018. He was also a two time Region champion & a conference champion. 

Colton Adams 

Winning four Nebraska State High School Championships for Scottsbluff from 11'-14', Colton Adams began his collegiate career at Iowa Western where he made the NJCAA finals in 2016. He then spent some time at Nebraska before finishing up at Chadron State. 

Doyle Trout 

Doyle Trout won four Nebraska High School State titles for Centennial from 12'-15'. Collegiately he competed for Wyoming. 

Isaac DeLoa 

Isaac Deloa won four Nebraska High School State titles for Millard South from 13'-16'. From what I could find, he did not wrestle in college. 

Korbin Meink 

Representing Omaha Skutt Catholic, Korbin Meink won four Nebraska High School State titles from 14'-17'.  Collegiately he competed for Campbell where he was a three time NCAA qualifier. A three time SOCON finalist, he won titles in 19' & 20'.  He was also a Reno champion his junior season as well as 4th at the Southern Scuffle as a freshman. 

Christian Miller 

Winning four Nebraska High School State Crowns from 14'-17' for Plainview, Christian Miller competed collegiately for Nebraska. 

Derek Robb 

Derek Robb won four Nebraska High School State championships for Sidney from 15'-18'.  From what I could find he did not wrestle in college. 

Tyler Hastings 

Tyler Hastings of Pleasanton who won Nebraska High School State titles from 16'-19', is another four timer who went the football route, playing collegiately for Hastings.

Cameron Riggs who won his titles for both North Platte St Patrick's as well as Maxwell is at St. Cloud State. 

James Burks of Omaha Burke is at Northern State

Gage Krolikowski of Valentine is at Nebraska-Kearney 

Paul Garcia of Scottsbluff is at Wyoming
