In terms of wrestling, Maine is a state that you just don't hear much out of. Nevertheless they've produced quite a few four time state champions & quite a few of them wrestled at the college level. A bit of a challenge to find information, I know I have all of the four timers up to 2018, but might be missing a few past that date. A few college records or lack thereof were difficult to come by as well. More than happy to add any missing information.
Conrad Turgeon |
Maine's first High School State wrestling championship took place in 1961 & a short time later winning titles in 63', 64', 65' & 66', Conrad Turgeon of Sanford was crowned the state's first four timer. Going straight into the Air Force out of high school, Turgeon did not wrestle collegiately.
Reggie Monroe |
Another representative of Sanford, Reggie Monroe won four Maine High School State titles from 62'-65'. To my knowledge he did not compete collegiately.

Winning four Maine State High School titles for Camden Hills from 01'-04', Chris Remsen competed for both North Carolina State & Arizona State in college.
Chris Barkac |
Chris Barkac won four Maine High School State championships for Dexter from 02'-05'. Like brother Jeremiah his post-high school history is fuzzy to me, so I'm not sure if he competed at the college level or not.
Jeremiah Barkac |
Winning four titles for Dexter from 04'-07', I do remember that Jeremiah Barkac was slated at one time to compete for Dana. Then I heard that he actually ended up at NIACC (North Iowa Area Community College). I know he competes MMA now, but am not sure on the validity of his college background.
Jon Hussey |
There's the Jon Hussey who won Maine High School State titles for Marshwood from 05'-08' & there's a Jon Hussey who currently competes in the World Wrestling Entertainment. They're both from Maine. Are they the same person?
Jerod Rideout |

Chris Smith |
Chris Smith who won four Maine State High School titles from 05'-08' for Deering, competed collegiately for Northern Illinois.

A four time Maine High School State champion for Gardiner from 13'-16', Peter DelGallo had an outstanding career for Southern Maine. Along with capturing 3rd place NCAA Division III All American honors, he was also a thee time Regional Runner-up.
Griffin Smith |
A four time Main High School State champ from 13'-16' for Dirigo, Griffin Smith's life was tragically cut short shortly after graduating high school.
Danny Buteau |
A four time Maine High School State champion for Oak Hill from 14'-17', Danny Buteau competed in the NCWA for Husson where he won an NCWA title in 2019 (He may have accomplished more in 20', 21' or 22', but I'm having trouble finding these NCWA results)
