Four (Or More) Time State Champions in College = North Carolina

 North Carolina is another state that has always fascinated me. If for nothing else the # of collegiate wrestling opportunities that it provides. Here is a look at their four time state champions & how they have done/are currently doing in college. 

Mike Kendall 

North Carolina's first four time state champion was Mike Kendall who won titles from 88'-91'. Collegiately he competed for North Carolina where he won an ACC title in 1994. 

JohnMark Bentley 

JohnMark Bentley won four North Carolina High School State titles for Avery County from 93'-96'. Collegiately he competed for North Carolina where in collecting 92 career victories he won ACC titles in his freshman, sophomore & senior seasons. 

Drew Forshey 

Representing St. Stephen's, Drew Forshey won four North Carolina High School State titles from 00'-03'.  Collegiately he competed for North Carolina. Winning an ACC title his sophomore season he finished 3rd at the ACC's his junior season. 

Dusty McKinney 

Dusty McKinney won four North Carolina High School State crowns from 01'-04'.  He started his collegiate career at George Mason but then decided that wrestling was no longer for him as he went into the Navy. 

Chris Balins 

Chris Balins won four North Carolina State High School Championships for McMichael from 03'-07'. He competed collegiately for North Carolina Greensboro. 

Justin Sparrow 

Representing East Gaston, Justin Sparrow won four North Carolina High School State titles from 03'-07'.  Competing for The Citadel in college, Sparrow was a SOCON runner-up in 2010 as a sophomore, taking 3rd place as a junior. 

Corey Mock 

Corey Mock won four North Carolina High School State titles for Chapel Hill. He began his collegiate career at North Carolina where after taking 3rd place at the ACC's his freshman season, he made the ACC finals as a sophomore in 2012.  He then transferred to UT-Chattanooga where in his junior season of 2014 he won a SOCON title. Extenuating circumstances kept him from competing as a senior. Other accomplishments included placing twice at the Southern Scuffle, once at CKLV & winning a RENO title. 

Jacob Creed 

Jacob Creed won four North Carolina State High School championships for Ragsdale from 06'-09'. From what I could find, he did not wrestle in college.
