Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Massachusetts Lowell

Riverhawk wrestling was a respectable program at both the NCAA Division II level & conference level well into the 90's when the program was dropped.

Jim Kennedy

A local from Lowell High School, Jim Kennedy had an outstanding high school career.  He was third as a freshman & then missed the state championships as a sophomore due to injury.  He came back strong as a junior taking runner-up honors.  As a senior he won a state title with a 45-0 record.  He originally went to Clarion but soon transferred back to Massachusetts-Lowell to compete for the Riverhawks.  He won three New England Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (NEIWA) titles & two Eastern Regional titles, capping off his career in 1990 with a fourth place finish at the NCAA Division II tournament.
