This review of Pfeiffer Wrestling misses the most important years of the program. From the fall of 1963 through the spring of 1966, Pfeiffer had one of the most outstanding teams in the southeast. During the 1963 -64 season it shut out the University of North Carolina, won the Southern Open tournament in Atlanta, GA. In 1964-65 season they were the runner op in the Chattanooga, tourney, and won the First Colonies open. This team fielded a number of undefeated wrestlers in duel meets during those years. Art Marion at 130, Dave Crawford at 123, Steve Zimmerman at 137, and Bobby Hand at 157. The Coach of that team was Jerry Daniels who wrestled at Appalachian State in the mid 50's and was undefeated in,3 seasons there . Jerry went on to coach at North Carolina State for many years. He passed away at 91 in June of 2024
