Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = UW-Milwaukee

Today UW-Milwaukee is a Division I school but during the time the Panthers competed in wrestling, they were a Division II school.  


Har Gritzmacher
167 lbs 

A three time conference champion, Gritzmacher made the NCAA Division II finals in 1967. 


Robert Flayter
177 lbs 

Another 1967 NCAA Division II finalist for the Panthers was Robert Flayter who ended his career with a record of 93-14. 

Richard Kiel


Kiel was a two time conference champion for the Panthers going 44-9 during his career. 


 
Jerome Kopecky 

A member of the wrestling team, it was in his other sport Tennis where Kopecky really stood out.  During his career on the court he went 55-7 in matches, twice claiming runner-up honors at the conference tournament.  He later coached Riverside Marshall High School tennis where he lead the school to three city championships.   

UW-Milwaukee also dropped its men's tennis team.
