I wasn't able to find out much about the Bonnies wrestling program, but indeed St. Bonaventure in Allegany, New York had a wrestling program at one point.

George originally began his collegiate wrestling career at the University of Michigan before coming to St. Bonaventure. A 1927 AAU champion, he made the Olympic team in 1928 finishing one match shy of a medal. He later went on to fame in professional wrestling, winning the American Wrestling Association (AWA) heavyweight title.
