The Thunderwolves may only have one ranked wrestler as they head into Indianapolis this weekend, but don't fool yourselves. They have plenty of potential to have a good tournament at the Midwest Classic!
U.R. Rhys Sellers 125
Rhys Sellers may not currently be ranked, but trust me, 5th-5th-6th thus far in Super Region VI, the guy knows how to wrestle well in tournaments & it's not like the guy hasn't pulled off a few upsets before. At the beginning of the season JT1Wrestle called him the 125 D2 Darkhorse. Let's see if he delivers this weekend!!
#13 Eddie Bowman 141
The biggest hope for a top 8 showing this weekend in Indianapolis is sensational sophomore Eddie Bowman. An NCAA DII qualifier last year at 133 lbs, thus far this year Bowman is 6-1 on the season with his only loss Vs DI competition. A champion at the UNK-Younes Hospitality.
The Rest of The Pack
Sellers & Bowman in my estimation are the two best bets for place-winners here at D2's toughest in-season tournament of the year. That doesn't mean that the Thunderwolves aren't capable of making some noise at some other weights, because they are.
174 Solomon A Volcin has thus far placed 6th & 5th at Super Region VI & let's keep in mind how tough this Super Region is. Nebraska-Kearney, Chadron State, Colorado Mesa, Adams State. We're talking a tough & competitive conference.
197 Don Greer has been 5th at SR6 & HWT Henry Sturn has also been 5th.
