Central Oklahoma @ The 46th Annual Midwest Classic!!

The Bronchos of Central Oklahoma are ranked #1 in the D2 nation at the moment & trust me, they'll show us this weekend why they're ranked #1.  Walking out of Indianapolis in a tournament always labeled as D2's toughest in-season & by some D2's toughest period?  You betcha.

#6
Guy Clevenger
125

A backup to Studd Morris last season, it's now time for Guy Clevenger to shine & show us what he's made of.  We already know his potential.  A win over two-time NCAA D2 finalist Jaxon Rohman is evidence enough. Capable of having an outstanding weekend in Indianapolis!

#1 Jason Henschel Or U.R. Eli Kirk
133

The Bronchos have two outstanding talents here at 133 lbs.  A transfer of Northern State, Jason Henschel sat behind NCAA D2 finalist Peter Rolle last year & is currently proving me correct by calling him one of the best reserves in the country as he's currently ranked #1!  Owns a 10-5 win over J.J. Armstrong & a 9-4 decision over Thaddeus Long.

The Broncs don't always send their starters for the Midwest Classic.  If that's the case, Eli Kirk has great potential to place top 8 this tournament.  Among his W's, an 11-2 major decision over NCAA D2 R12'er James Wright!

**ALSO** - Easton Taylor still has eligibility left!  So we could see him here.  9-1 on the year thus far, the former Pratt NJCAA standout recently one the Drury Open.

U.R. Shawn Muse                           #8 Josh Taylor                             U.R. Dylan Lucas
141

I'm not exactly sure what's up at 141 lbs concerning the Bronchos.  I find it hard to believe that Josh Taylor is legit beating Dylan Lucas out for the spot, but who knows? Maybe he is.  I'd say it's more likely an eligibility issue (perhaps not eligible until second semester?) or an injury.   I mean Lucas was 3rd in the D2 nation back in 2023.  At the Midwest Classic, thus far he's been 1st-2nd-5th.  Those are extremely impressive credentials.

Nonetheless, we haven't seen Lucas in competition yet this season & Taylor is the one with both a #8 ranking & an impressive 8-2 decision over Ronan Schuelke.

Also, don't be surprised if we see Shawn Muse in action here.  A pinner, Muse stuck Evan Bindner in just 34 seconds & it only took him 1:53 to stick four time NCAA D2 qualifier/two-time All American Patrick Allis.

#1
Gabe Johnson
157

A two-time NCAA D2 champ. A three-time Midwest Classic finalist (2nd-1st-1st).  Ain't no more to say, nough said.

#14
Hunter Jump
174

6th here last year, Hunter Jump was 3rd in the D2 nation in 2024, but came up short of All American number two in 2025.  No doubt about it, he isn't happy about that & I highly doubt he's happy with a #14 ranking.  He has the potential this weekend, to climb many spots up that ranking ladder & get himself back into that All-American conversation.  18-10 over Zeke Waltz, he's defeated Aaden Valdez 6-2.  5-1, 15-3, 10-4, & 15-8, he's more than proven he knows how to beat Cole Ritter.

#5
Branson Britten
184

From Northern Colorado to Little Rock, Branson Britten is spending his final season of collegiate eligibility in the world of NCAA Division II.  So far, so good.  His only loss this season is ironically to former teammate Brock DelSignore in a tight 4-2 decision.  Owns a 7-1 win over Darion Johnson.

#3 Garrett Wells or U.R. Emmanuel Skillings
197

The two-time NCAA D2 All-American Garrett Wells has thus far been 1st & 3rd here at the Midwest Classic.  A likely *2 seed if he enters, it'd be fun to see how he matches up with likely *1 Seed Max Ramburg.

If he doesn't enter, then look for Emmanuel Skillings to represent the Bronchos this weekend.  Skillings is a super tough backup.  Proved why with a 7th place showing here in 2024 & a R12 showing this past season.

#16 Judson Rowland Or U.R. Ryan Nichols
HWT

Once again, the Bronchos have more than one outstanding talent at a weight.  A future U.S. Marshall, Judson Rowland was one match shy of being an NCAA D2 qualifier this past season, so you know he's wanting to get the ball rolling.  No better place to show the D2 nation what you've got than in Indianapolis.

We could though, see Ryan Nichols instead & he is a transfer of Oklahoma.

===

We also have Bam West at 149 & Bryce Dauphin at 165.  Neither is ranked at the moment, but this is Central Oklahoma.  Don't ever let a U.R. next to a name fool you.  If they're wearing UCO on their uniforms, they're good, end of story.

Central Oklahoma going to win this year's Midwest Classic.  Well, tons of tough teams here, but if you're making bets, feel safe to bet on The Swayze's favorite team.
