Can't necessarily say what order I think they'll finish in, but here are the top 8 guys I think stand on the award stand in Chattanooga this weekend.
#2 Simon Ruiz Cornell
Again, not 100% positive if the Big Red sends their starters this weekend or not, but if they do, it should be a cakewalk to the finals for the 2025 All-American. Could have a challenge in the finals, but don't see any scares for him beyond that.
#7 Carter Schubert Oklahoma
Of course seeds come into play, but I'm anxious to see who ends up meeting Ruiz in the finals (of course assuming he's in the tournament). Ranking heavily suggest Carter Schubert a former 157 lbs'er, who is currently 11-3 on the season.
#19 Nick Hamilton Virginia
A few years back Nick Hamilton finished R12 at the NCAA DI championships & could position himself into that realm once again. I say that Ruiz wins this tournament without much challenge, but I'm not against the idea of Hamilton proving me wrong.
#22 Aiden Wallace Duke
I love seeing the Blue Devils do well, and there's plenty of reason to think Aiden Wallace will have a good tournament this weekend. 14-1 on the season, he was last year's runner-up.
(Redshirting) Will Henckel Penn State
As discussed many times before, Cael Sanderson sends many of his redshirts/reserves to the Southern Scuffle every season. Will Henckel is one of them. A Nittany Lion that wrestled for High School powerhouse, Blair Academy. Top 8 Southern Scuffle? Yeah, I think so.
U.R. Dom Solis Maryland
The Terrapin has shown up at the BIG 10's in the past & wrestled well there, so there is reason to believe he could show up & have a top 8 finish here in Chattanooga this weekend.
