2025-2026 NCAA Division III Preview - 149 lbs

Angelo Centrone
SUNY-Cortland

Three-time NWCA Scholar All-American & the SUNY-AC athlete of the year, Angelo Centrone returns to the '25-'26 season, having posted a 30-1 record last year & a long list of accomplishments.  2nd in the D3 nation, Centrone won a Regional 2 title, a SUNY-AC title, a Williams title & his second Blue Jay classic.

It should come to no surprise to anyone, because as they often are, the Auggies are stacked at 149 lbs.  Matt Randolph led the way last year, winning titles at Regional 7, the Auggie Open & the North Central Invite, before eventually finishing 4th in the D3 nation.  31-4 on the season.

Teammate Lucas Jagodzinske went 22-6 in his own right.  He was runner-up at the North Central Invitational, taking 3rd place showings at the Auggie Invite & the Cliff Keen Mike Duroe Invite. 

We also have Karson Casper at this weight too. He posted 17 wins on the season, including a 5-0 shut out over qualifier Aidan Ruddy.  

For record keeping, Randolph defeated Jagodzinske twice in official meetings last season, 10-1 & 5-2. 

Thomas Monn
McDaniel


A two-time NCAA Division III qualifier (1st-4th-1st thus far at Regionals) Thomas Monn finished 5th in the D3 nation last season with 35-3 record.  He heads into his senior season having a three-time finalist at both the Messiah Open (1st-1st-2nd) & the Blue Jay Classic (1st-2nd-2nd). 

Brett Back
Dubuque

An NWCA Scholar All-American, Brett Back earned NCAA Division III qualification for the Spartans with a 3rd place showing at Regional 6.  He won 28 matches on the year. 

Evan Lindner
Washington & Lee

29-6 on the season, Evan Lindner heads into his final year of collegiate eligibility looking to become a four-time Regional place-winner with finishes of 7th-2nd-3rd thus far.  A Messiah Open champion, he will also look to earn his first All-American honor, coming up one match shy in '24-'25. 

Chance Babb
Alvernia

A two-time NCAA Division III qualifier, Chance Babb earned a 3rd place showing at Regional 3 this past season. 20 wins on the year, he has posted Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) showings of 3rd-2nd-1st. 

Taylor Smith
Washington & Jefferson

15-3 on the year, the NWCA Scholar All-American is now a two-time Regional champion, & a two-time Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) champion. 

Tyler Starr
North Central


Tyler Starr went from a losing record in '23-'24, to NCAA Division III qualification in '24-'25, placing 3rd at Regional 5.  He nearly placed at Pete Willson as well, finishing one match shy of a top 8 finish. 

Chase Fiser 
Loras

20 wins on the season, including a 10-2 major decision over Brett Back, Chase Fiser was the Regional 6 runner-up. 

Aidan Ruddy
Concordia (MN)


17 wins on the season, Ruddy earned NCAA Division III qualification with a runner-up finish at Regional 7. 

Avery Leonard
SUNY-Oneonta


34-3 on the season, Avery Leo0nard won titles at both the Rhode Island College tournament & the R.I.T. tournament, taking runner-up honors at the SUNY-AC. He was one match shy of NCAA Division III qualification placing 4th at Regional 2. 

Ethan Composto
Gettysburg

27-4 on the year, Ethan Composto finished a match shy of NCAA Division III qualification, placing 4th at Regional 3. 

Dresden Grimm
Coe

6th & 4th thus far at Regionals, Dresden Grimm has proven himself to be one of the best at 149 lbs yet to make it to D3 nationals.  Among his 22 wins last season, a 9-0 major over D3 R12'er Brett Back, a 15-4 major over qualifier Tyler Starr & a 14-12 decision over qualifier Chase Fiser.  Winning the Coe Invitational, he was 3rd at the North Central Invite.

19 wins on the season, Josh Cherba was 4th at Regional 7, 5th at Pete Willson & 2nd at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  Teammate Joe Penchi won 11 matches, including a 10-1 major decision over qualifier Tyler Starr. 

Caleb Seyfried

20 wins on the season for Caleb Seyfried who was one match shy of D3 qualification last season with a 4th place finish at Regional 1. 

Manny Scordos
Baldwin Wallace

An NWCA Scholar All American, Manny Scordos won 34 matches last season, winning the John Summa Invitational & placing 4th at Regional 4.  Among his W's, a 2-1 decision over qualifier Taylor Smith. 

Nate Fitt
USCGA


A Regional champion in 2024, Nate Fitt was 5th at Regional 1 this past season.  19 wins on the season, he was the runner-up at both the Don Parker & Ted Reese Invitationals.  He will look to become a three-time NCAA Division III qualifier this season.

23 wins on the season for Ike Guttentag who placed 5th at Regional 1. 

Dalton Monger                 Levi Snyder

This looks to be one of the better wrestle-offs in NCAA Division 3.  Dalton Monger won 28 matches last season, placing 5th at Regional 3.  He heads into his junior season of competition having placed 5th & 3rd at Pete Willson.  Teammate Levi Snyder, who will also be a junior, won 25 matches last year.  He was the runner-up at the Racich Rumble.  The two have met officially three times.  Snyder winning 8-0 & 7-1 matches & Monger winning an 8-2 match. 

Carmen Cortese                     Tyler Roe  
Stevens Tech

The Ducks as they usually are at multiple weights, are loaded here at 149 lbs.  Carmen Cortese, a two-time NWCA Scholar All-American, was the MAC runner-up last year & 5th at Regional 2.  Tyler Roe, put together 24 wins in his own right, including a 14-10 decision over qualifier Aidan Ruddy. 



   Josh Carman                Nick Nettleton
Mount Union


I don't know for sure, but I think Josh Carman was an in-season transfer last year from West Liberty to Mount Union.  He won 12 matches, including defeated R12'er Evan Lindner at Regional 4, but ended up 5th himself, while Lindner came back to take 3rd.  Teammate Nick Nettleton heads into his senior season with two Pete Willson Invitational medals to his name going 3rd-5th-R12.  

Chase Mirelez
Millikin

25 wins on the year, Chase Mirelez was 7th at Pete Willson & 5th at Regional 5.  Among his wins, a 5-4 decision over qualifier Tyler Starr. 

Ashton Massaro
Aurora

23 wins on the season, Ashton Massaro was 5th at Regional 7. 

Mikey Williams
Misericordia

29 wins on the year, Mikey Williams was 6th at Regional 3 & 3rd at the Racich Rumble. 

Andres Cortes
Averett

24 wins on the season, Andres Cortes was the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) runner-up & he was 6th at Regional 4. 

Cade Siebrecht
Central


Brother of BIG 12 runner-up Cobe Siebrecht, and a former Iowa Hawkeye himself, Cade Siebrecht was another late transfer in the world of D3 wrestling last year.  He went 4-4, placing 6th at Regional 6, with a very impressive 15-0 technical fall over Dresden Grimm. 

Jesse Burg
Lakeland

22 victories on the year, Jesse Burg was 6th at Regional 7. 


Jayden Medina
Hunter

30 wins on the season & 27 of them coming via bonus points, the Scholar All-American took 7th place honors at Regional 2. 

Vincenzo Napolitana
NYU

An NWCA Scholar All-American, Vincenzo Napolitana won a University Athletic Association (UAA) title this past season & took 7th place at Regional 3.

20 wins on the season, Kyle Bizjak was 7th at Regional 5 & 6th at Pete Willson 

T.J. Martin

22 wins on the year, T.J. Martin placed 8th at Regional 2. 



James Linder
Western New England


Winning 21 matches in '24-'25, James Linder was 8th at Regional 1. 

Shane Kibler
King's


Shane Kibler won 21 matches last season & collected an 8th place finish at Regional 3. 

Brendan Connolly
Chicago


Brendan Connolly heads into his final season of competition now a back to back Regional 5 8th place finisher & a three-time UAA runner-up.  He won 18 matches in '24-'25. 

Hudson Andrews
Huntingdon

14 wins on the season for the Georgia native, who was 8th at Regional 6. 

Max Parrish
Ursinus

26 wins on the season, Max Parrish came up short of a top 8 finish at Regional 3, but he did win the Racich Rumble. 

Lucio Morgan
UW-Whitewater

18 wins on the season, Lucio Morgan took an 8th place finish at the prestigious Pete Willson.  He also owned a 4-1 victory over qualifier Tyler Starr. 


Cameron Curva
Ferrum


Unfortunately the Panthers will be ineligible for the post-season this year as they are transitioning to NCAA Division II. Nevertheless, they have some real hammers on their team & Cameron Curva is one of them. 29 wins on the season last year & one match shy of a top 8 finish at Pete Willson. 

Zane Licht
Wartburg


Behind Kaleb Romero last season, Zane Licht a transfer from North Dakota State, gave us a preview of the strong replacement he will be in '25-'26.  14 wins on the season, a 4-2 decision over R12'er Brett Back. 

Charlie Robson
Delaware Valley


17 wins on the year for the young freshman, including a very impressive 9-4 decision over R12'er Evan Lindner.
