2025-2026 NCAA Division III Preview - 125 lbs

NCAA DIVISION III WRESTLING 125

Christian Guzman
North Central

3rd-2nd-2nd in the D3 nation & 94 career wins, there's only one thing left for the Florida native to accomplish in his already extremely decorated career.  That is to win an NCAA Division III title. While nothing is a given, the Cardinal will be the clear favorite until proven otherwise.

Brayden Parke
Coe

Only a sophomore & the Kohawk is already in route on a plan to become a two-time All American this season (5th last year) as well as a two-time Region 6 champion. The Linn-Marr native also won the Coe Open last year with a 27-7 overall record.

Jake Craig
Southern Maine

The Husky enters his senior season now a three-time NCAA Division III qualifier with Regional finishes of 2nd-3rd-2nd & All American finishes of 4th & 6th.  He will look to win his first Regional title this year & end his career a three-time NCAA DIII place-winner.

Isiac Paulino
Roanoke

The future state cop was 3rd in both Region 4 & the Pete Willson Invitational last year, while taking runner-up honors at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).  22-8, he was one match shy of D3 All American honors.

Quinton Wolbert                Ino Garcia
UW-La Crosse

Quinton Wolbert had himself a pretty solid season last year winning 22 matches in route to a 4th place Pete Willson finish, a 3rd place showing at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) & a Region 7 finish.  He was one match shy of NCAA Division III All American honors.  He's not the only talent the Eagles have at 125 lbs, however. Ino Garcia is a tough wrestler in his own right.  Nearly majored qualifier Connor Fiser 8-1.

Gavin Bradley
Castleton

What a decorated career it has been for Gavin Bradley of Castleton.  Thus far 101 career victories, including R12-7th-R12 finishes at the national tournament & 3rd-2nd-3rd at Regionals.  Defeated Parke twice last season, 11-8 & once by major 15-5.  Has won Ithaca, Roger Williams & Ted Reese.  34-8 in '24-'25.

Jalen Dunson
UW-Whitewater

A Pete Willson champion last season, Jalen Dunson has twice been one match shy of NCAA Division III All American honors, going 7th-1st-3rd at Regionals.  5th-3rd-2nd thus far in the WIAC, he took 3rd at the North Central Invitational.

Malik Asfour
Eastern (PA)

The Eastern Eagles begin their season ever of NCAA Division III wrestling in '25-'26, and it is a high probability that they could have their first qualifier this year in Malik Asfour!  Competing for Delaware Valley last season, thus far Asfour has been 7th & 3rd at Regionals. 25 wins on the year, he was the runner-up at the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Tomah Gummow
Ithaca

35 wins on the season, Tomah Gummow won a SUNY-AC title & qualified for the NCAA Division III championships with a 3rd place showing at Region 2.

Matt Griffin
TCNJ

The Lion has been 3rd & 2nd thus far in Regionals & a Auggie Invite champion.  He'll look to capture All American honors this season.

Brett Birchman
Wartburg

18 wins on the season, Brett Birchman earned runner-up honors at Region 6 & had an 8-5 s.v. over All American Brayden Parke on the year.

Connor Fiser
Loras

Only a sophomore & I already feel comfortable calling Connor Fiser one of the best at 125 lbs in D3 yet to All American.  3rd at Region 6 last season, Fiser owned a 16-5 major decision over Brayden Parke.

Tom Turner
Pacific

23-9 on the season, Tom Turner earned NCAA Division III qualification last season with a runner-up finish at Region 2.

Tom Holmquist
St. John's

Tom Holmquist earned NCAA Division III qualification last year, finishing 3rd in Region 7.

Jack Thode
Centenary

Jack Thode finished 5th at the 2023 Mideast Regional.  Then he came up short of placing in the 2024 Mideast Regional, finishing one match shy of NCAA DIII qualification with a 4th place finish at Region 2 this past season.  We could be looking at a Sleeper.  One good enough to win Region 2 this year & earn All American honors.

Nikko Beato
USCGA

The San Diego native was another tough wrestler who finished one match shy of NCAA Division III qualification last season.  20-8 on the year, he owned a 2:53 fall over Malik Asfour & finished as the Doug Parker Invitational runner-up.

Harrison Gordon
NYU

30-3 on the year, with 22 of those 30 wins coming via bonus points, Harrison Gordon won titles at both the Ned McGinley Invitational & the Racich Rumble.  He finished one match shy of NCAA Division III qualification.

    Tony Urso                       Ben Rubin
Washington & Lee

The Generals have two super tough wrestlers here at 125 lbs, and both of these guys are only sophomores.  Tony Urso put together a 21-10 season last year, finishing one match shy of NCAA Division III qualification.  A gifted student, Urso excels in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics.   Teammate Ben Rubin put together a 15-6 season, which included an 8-6 win over four-time Regional place-winner Joey Lamparelli.  Rubin also a champion Marching Band member, is a third degree black belt in Tang Soo Do.  Anxious to know if those techniques/strategies help with wrestling.

Dominick Marre
Central

The Dutchman was one match shy of NCAA DIII qualification last year, finishing 4th at Region 6.

Connor Kerwin
Wilkes

25 wins on the year, Connor Kerwin finished 7th at both Pete Willson & Region 2.

Jase Van Pelt
Cornell (IA)

The Billings, Montana native enters his final season of collegiate competition looking to become a four-time Regional place-winner.  Thus far the Ram has finished 7th-6th-7th.  Along with these accomplishments he also won both the Millikin Open & the Cliff Keen Mike Duroe Invitational, finishing 5th at Pete Willson.

Dorian Hoffman
Baldwin Wallace

An NWCA Scholar All-American, Dorian Hoffman had 27 wins on the season (Including a 10-7 decision over Connor Fiser) taking 5th place at Region 4.

Jesse Johnson
MSOE

The Raider took 6th place honors at Region 7 last season.

Shelton Chastain
Ozarks

Shelton Chastain was one match shy of Pete Willson placement & 5th at Region 6 this past season.

Tyler Klein
Dubuque

6th at Region 6 last season, Tyler Klein had an impressive 9-3 decision over All American Brayden Parke last season.

Mason Jones
Manchester

A Scholar All-American, Mason Jones was 5th at Regionals last season.

Brett Stanley
John Carroll

Well versed in freestyle, Brett Stanley was 6th at Regionals last year.

Justin Porter
Randolph

Justin Porter was 6th at Regionals last year.

Chris Kish
Carthage

A two-time NJCAA qualifier for Harper College, Chris Kish was 8th at Regionals last season.

Donovan Fields
Elmhurst

A runner-up at the Collegiate Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), Donovan Fields finished 8th at Regionals.

Dominic Terracciano
Jersey City

Dominic Terracciano was 6th at Regionals this past season.

Matt Papa
Southern Virginia

Talk about a guy that can grow a mean beard, Matt Papa was 8th at Regionals last year.

Chris Karbash
UW-Platteville

The Pioneer took 7th place honors at the Regionals last season.

Patrick Horvath
King's

Patrick Horvath was 8th at Regionals last year.

Alex Schaeublin
Trinity

Alex Schaeublin was 7th at Regionals last season.

Zach Dellinger
Penn State Behrend

The Lion earned an 8th place finish at Regionals last season.

Jake DelVecchio
York (PA)

Losing records in both his freshman & sophomore seasons, I'm anxious to see if Jake DelVecchio doesn't end up being one of those, "completely came out of nowhere" types in '25-'26.   Hear me out...

Stuck Alex DeFour at 4:21 last season & majored Jesse Johnson 14-4.  Also defeated Pat Horvath on two occasions 2-1 & 2-1, plus a 4-2 victory over Jack Thode.
