Quite successful, the program started in the 1968-1969 season & lasted through the 2010-2011 season. For much of their history the Magic as they were known at the time were coached by Ron Mirikantani, who himself  didn't wrestle until he went to Central Missouri, coming from a high school that didn't offer a wrestling program. Nevertheless, he produced several NJCAA All Americans which included NJCAA champions & NJCAA runner-ups.
