Gone, Lost & Forgotten: DuPage

 

The DuPage Chaparrals at one time had a wrestling program & they were fairly successful.  Winners of 245 dual meet victories, they never had a season where they didn't produce an NJCAA qualifier.  The wrestling program was started in the 1968-1969 season.  Not sure as to when it ended, but they did host the NJCAA championships on more than one occasion. 

John Duraski 

A 4th place finisher in high school at the Illinois State Championships for Naperville Central, John Duraski later earned NJCAA All American honors for the Chaparrals. 

Jeff Gillman 

An NJCAA All American for the Chaparrals in 1977, Jeff Gillman went on to become a two time BIG 12 place-winner for Missouri. 3rd in 1978, he was 2nd in 1979. 

Reid Diehl 

Another wrestler out of Naperville Central, Reid Diehl earned NJCAA All American honors for DuPage before transferring to Southern Illinois Edwardsville.
