Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = American River

 Located in North Highlands twenty minutes south of Sacramento, the Beavers had a wrestling program through the 1980-1981 season.  

Goddard
145 lbs 


Goddard was a CCCAA runner-up in 1966. 

Dan Hart
HWT


Hart was fourth in 1971 at the CCCAA championships, earning runner-up honors in 1972. 


Steve Tirapelle
150 lbs 

Tirapelle took fourth place honors at the 1972 CCCAA championships.  He then went on to wrestle for Humboldt State where he placed fourth at the 1974 NCAA Division III championships.  Post his collegiate career he went on to be one of the most successful high school coaches the state of California has ever seen.  At Clovis High, he has won seven team titles, producing 29 individual state champions & 109 place-winners. 

Dean Reichenberg
158 lbs 

Reichenberg took fifth in 1976 at the CCCAA championships.  He went on to compete for Cal State Sacramento where he finished fourth at the NCAA Division III championships. 


Brent Causey
190 lbs 

Causey was sixth at the 1976 CCCAA championships.   He went on to finish up his collegiate wrestling career at Biola, wrestling internationally making the 1980 Olympic team post his college career.  He then went on to become a Colonel in the United States Military. 

Ken Harbuck

Harbuck won a CCCAA title in 1977.

  1. Brent Causey went on to become the Al Bundy of the military, always boosting about his HS career and former glory days. He was a few chromosomes short of a full package, he had that tard strength you hear about in urban legend.
