Who's Who of NAIA Collegiate Wrestling: Top Returnees 174 for 2024-2025

Alex Reynolds
Grand View

The Vikings have been on top for quite some time now, and with talent returning like that of NAIA champ Alex Reynolds, they're most likely going to remain on top.  Also a Heart of American (HOA) champion last year, he was 3rd at the Grand View Open.  May I also add that Reynolds has been 6th twice at the mostly DI tournament of RENO.

Graham Calhoun
Southeastern

You don't see this very often, but Graham Calhoun actually started the '23-'24 season wrestling for Wisconsin. He transferred midseason to Southeastern and had himself a great showing in the NAIA.  Making the NAIA finals, he was also 3rd in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) & 3rd at the Missouri Valley Invitational.

Abel Nava Jr
Providence

Great season for Abel Nava.  Winning titles at both the Missouri Valley Invitational (3rd in '23 as well) & the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), Nava took 3rd at the NAIA championships.

Max Zamora
Menlo

Talk about a guy who got hot at the right times.  Max Zamora didn't wrestle much last season, but he made the most out of the times he took to the mat.  6th at the Missouri Valley Invitational, believe it or not he was only 7th at the CCC.  Yet despite the disappointing finish at conference, he turned around and took 7th place honors at the NAIA championships.

Alex Hernandez
Southern Oregon

Alex Hernandez was 4th in the CCC & 8th in the NAIA nation last season.

Daniil Gorshkov
Embry Riddle

The Russian had himself a pretty successful season last year.  A runner up at both the Mile High Invitational & the Missouri Valley Invitational, Gorshkov took 3rd in the CCC & 5th at the Oppeheim Invitational.  He was one match shy of NAIA All American honors.

Cory Cannan
Lindsey Wilson

A Mid South Conference (MSC) runner-up, Cory Cannan finished one match shy of NAIA All American honors.

Braden Anderson
Ottawa

19-3 on the season, Braden Anderson has 74 wins thus far in his collegiate career.  Good chance that he could reach that 100 win mark this year.  One match shy of NAIA All American honors in '23-'24, he has 2nd & 1st place finishes within the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).

Tony Conner
Missouri Baptist

Tony Conner heads into the '24-'25 season having won the American Midwest Conference/Sooner Athletic Conference (AMC/SAC) title last season.

Tre Morrisette
Life

An AAC runner-up last season, Tre Morrisette has thus far been 8th & 4th in the Missouri Valley Invitational and 2nd & 3rd at the Life Open.

Cael Jordan
Doane

Cael Jordan heads into '24-'25 having posted 5th & 2nd place Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) titles thus far.

Tate Nordby
Dickinson State

Tate Nordby made the finals of the HOA last season.

Noah Hollendonner
Marian

A 2023 WHAC champion, Noah Hollendonner was 2nd this past season, also taking 3rd at the Patriot Open.  Although he did not place at the Missouri Valley Invitational, he was 4th there in 2023.

Anthony Pyron
Cumberland

Anthony Pyron took a bronze medal at last year's MSC championships.

Joseph Teguia
Graceland

Joseph Teguia took a 3rd place finish at the HOA.

Dylan Preston
Cumberlands

27 wins on the season for Dylan Preston who was 8th at the Missouri Valley Invitational & 5th at the MSC.

Brenden Parks
Missouri Valley

Brenden Parks was 5th at the HOA & 7th at the Missouri Valley Invitational last season.

Cade Gubler
Montana State Northern

Cade Gubler finished 5th at the CCC last season.

Ledger Patracek
Menlo

22-8 on the season, Ledger Patracek was 6th in the CCC & R12 at Missouri Valley.

Tyson Stover
Corban

31 wins on the year, Tyson Stover was 5th at the Missouri Valley Invitational and 8th at the CCC. He was also All CCC academic.

Landon Buchanan
Indiana Tech

Landon Buchanan was an NAIA qualifier for the Warriors last season.

Lane Miller
Dakota Wesleyan

Year in and year out, there are some very talented wrestlers who don't make the NAIA championships.  One I was rather surprised did not last season was Lane Miller of Dakota Wesleyan.  18 wins on the season, he has had back to back 4th place finishes in the GPAC.

Jordan Lomeli
Oklahoma City

14 wins on the season for Jordan Lomeli last year who was 3rd at the KCAC & 4th at the Friends Falcon Invitational.

UPDATE:  Lomeli competed for Ottawa last season, and has transferred to compete for Oklahoma City this season.

August Batson
Keiser

August Batson captured 4th place at the AAC last season as a freshman.

Jeraimiah Nyberg
Graceland

It was a 4th place finish in the HOA for Jeraimiah Nyberg last season.

Isaac Anderson
Dickinson State

6th place honors in the HOA for Isaac Anderson last season.

Jayden Terronez
St Ambrose

I really think that Jayden Terronez has the talent and the ability to have a standout season.  I think this is his final season of eligibility, so if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen now. 6th in an incredibly loaded Grand View Open bracket last year, Terronez was one match shy of a top 8 finish at the Missouri Valley Invitational.

Tom Even
Grand View

Considering the Vikings have an Army at each weight class, it's hard to tell who will go where and who will do what throughout the season.  I do think Tom Even is capable of achieving a lot. In many ways, he already has.  Making the Oppenheim finals last season, he was one match shy of a top 8 finish at the Missouri Valley Invitational.

Sherman Dixon
Cumberlands

Sherman Dixon won 14 matches last season & finished one match shy of a medal at the Missouri Valley Invitational.
