Gone, Lost & Forgotten: Their Best = Pfeiffer

I receive request every now & again to cover certain schools & it's always disappointing when not much turns up in my research.  I always hope when someone is looking forward to a certain team being covered, that I'll have a boatload of information.  Unfortunately it isn't always the case.

Pfeiffer is a small NCAA Division III school with less than 2,000 students, located in a city with less than 1,000 people.  Known as the Falcons, the wrestling program began in the 1955-1956 season & came to an end after the 1985-1986 season.  During their time on the mat they competed in both the NAIA & NCAA Division II.

Of known team championships,  Pfeiffer won the 1965 First Colonies championship.

Ken Budd

A two time District champion for the Falcons in 82' & 83', Budd later became the Head coach.

Bruce Lambert
HWT

Lambert had an outstanding career for the Falcons going 115-14 over his illustrious four year career.  Winning Carolinas Conference titles all four seasons, he won three District titles & two Southern Regional titles.   In 1983 he took fourth place All American honors at both the NAIA & NCAA Division II championships.  In 1984 he placed eighth in the NAIA & fifth in the NCAA Division II.
