As a transfer from Lehigh University, I knew when I stepped on to campus, Odu and Coach Gray Simons was where I belonged. I have to thank Coach Simons for not only my 3 conference titles but the 2 Mat Town, 3 Virginia Collegiate State, 2 Jmu invitational and 2 ODU invitational titles. I only hope the wrestling program finds it way back. He came in 1st in the Nation in 1969 and 2nd in 1966. He was selected at Most Valuable wrestler in the National Tournament in 1969 & won the "Gorrarian" Award for most pins in least amount of time. He was also a 3 X Mason Dixon Champ and Outstanding Wrestler.
