Peter Kane Williams |
Eph'ing tough, Eph'ing good, only a junior and Peter Kane is already a two time NCAA Division III All American and finalist. 7th in 2023, he was the runner-up last year, with Northeast Regional finishes of 3rd & 2nd. Had a 21-3 record last year.
Cooper Pontelandolfo Rex Jacobs NYU |
6th-6th-3rd in the D3 nation, Cooper Pontelandolfo heads into his final season of eligibility looking to become a four time All American. He'll challenge Peter Kane, whom he did defeat last year 2-1 for the national title. 2nd-2nd-1st, Pontelandolfo also looks to become a four time Regional finalist and two time champion. 30-3 on the season last year, he has 92 varsity wins & will well surpass 100 in '24-'25.
Backing Pontelandolfo up in the line up, will be a tough Rex Jacobs, who may also go to 165 this year. Jacobs has such wins on his record as a 10-8 decision over qualifier Jake Hoffman & a 8-1 decision over Kyle Klein.
Clayton McDonough Luther |
39 wins on the season, Clayton McDonough was 3rd at the Lower Midwest Regional & 4th in the D3 Nation.
Blake Jagodzinskie Kaden Reetz Karsen Otis Augsburg |
One thing is for certain, Augsburg didn't become one of the most dominant teams in NCAA Division III history by accident. They got that way by being severely deep in each weight class, and here at 157 lbs is proof of it. Blake Jagodzinske had 19 wins last year, making the Upper Midwest Regional finals & placing 5th in the D3 nation. 3rd at the Luther Open, he was 2nd at the Aggie Invite. He's got two extremely tough teammates who will be challenging him for the starting spot.
Kaden Reetz won 26 matches last year. One of which was defeating Jagodzinske 8-5 in the finals of the Aggie Invite. He also defeated All American Clayton McDonough 12-3 major decision, with a 6-4 decision over qualifier Tom West. A North Central Invitational runner-up, he tech'd Drew Vlasnik 15-0.
Karsen Otis, had 28 victories on the season. A 5-1 decision over qualifier Tom West, he defeated Drew Vlasnick 8-0 major decision.
Ryan Smith Steve Dalling Stevens Tech |
Ryan Smith heads into his junior season of competition, now a two time NCAA DIII All American with finishes of 8th & 6th. Also a two time Southeast Regional champion, he won a Middle Atlantic Conference title last season. 19 wins on the year. He'll be backed by a tough Steve Dalling, who among his victories last year, stuck qualifier Jaryn Hartranft at the 4:29 mark.

Tim Smith Tyson Nisley Wabash |
24 wins on the season, Tim With won the Central Regional title & finished a hair short of NCAA Division III All American status. Challenging him for the varsity position this year, will be Tyson Nisley who won 19 matches last year, including a 6:39 fall over qualifier Tom West & a 4-1 s.v. over Drew Vlasnik.
Nathan Callaway Millikin |
Great season of wrestling for Nathan Callaway last year, who went 30-4 racking a series of credentials and accomplishments. A Lower Midwest Regional championship, he also won a title at the Coe Invitational. 6th at Pete Willson, he finished one match shy of being an NCAA DIII All American.
Jermaine Butler UW-Whitewater |
30 wins on the season, Jermaine Butler let his presence be known with an outstanding performance at Pete Willson, winning the prestigious title as a freshman. 3rd at the Upper Midwest Regional, Butler finished a match short of NCAA DIII All American honors.
Jaryn Hartranft Wilkes |
Want proof that competing at the lower weight class isn't always the thing to do? Jaryn Hartranft went 13-15 in '22-'23 competing at 149 lbs. Last year he competed at 157 lbs, won 30 matches and qualified for the NCAA DIII championships by making the Southeast Regional finals.
Jason Rezac Alvernia |

Tommy West Baldwin Wallace |
Tommy West enters the '24-'25 season now a two time Central Regional runner-up. 3rd at the North Central Invitational last year, he won 35 matches in total, including a 3:11 fall over R12'er Tim Smith.
Javen Estrada North Central |
I said this about Wyatt Turnquist in NCAA Division II wrestling at 149 lbs. Now I'm going to say it about Javen Estrada in NCAA Division III at 157 lbs. You want someone who didn't even qualify for the championships last year, who's capable of winning a D3 title this year? Javen Estrada is your answer. An NCAA DIII runner-up in 2023, he entered the Lower Midwest Regional last year a two time runner-up. Unfortunately as it sometimes happens in what can be an unforgiving sport, he came up short of qualification last year by finishing 4th. Nonetheless, throughout the season still showed how incredibly tough he is. A 22-4 tech over R12'er Tim Smith, he also teched R12'er Nathan Callaway 20-5, as well as R12'er Jermaine Butler 23-7. There's good reason why we DIII wrestling fans want a wildcard system. Estrada for the record is also a two time North Central champ.
Drew Vlasnik Chicago |
24 wins on the season, Drew Vlasnik finished one match shy of NCAA DIII qualification as he finished 4th at the Upper Midwest Regional. A two time Pete Willson place-winner with finishes of 7th & 4th, he defeated R12'er Tim Smith 4-1 & R12'er Jermaine Butler 5-3.

Jack Richardson Johnson & Wales |
The sophomore put up 25 wins on the season, including a 10-7 s.v. over qualifier Wenchard Pierre Louis, finishing one match shy of NCAA qualification himself.
Daniel Meeker Blain Christie Wartburg |
Here's a wrestle-off I'm anxious to see what ends up happening. Daniel Meeker finished 5th at the Lower Midwest Regional last season, with some pretty impressive wins on the year. He stuck All American Clayton McDonough at the 5:57 mark & he also defeated All American Blake Jagodzinske 7-2. Not to mention a 6-3 victory over Drew Vlasnik. On the same hand, Blain Christie had just as impressive wins. A 7-6 victory over McDonough himself, he stuck R12'er Tim Smith at the 4:24 mark & defeated Vlasnik 7-1.
Both of these gentlemen are seniors eligibility wise from what I gather, so do or die time has come. Officially Meeker won a 12-10 battle between the two last year.
Mike Smith MSOE |
30 wins on the season, Mike Smith enters his final season of collegiate eligibility having placed 7th & 5th at the Upper Midwest Regional. He was also 8th at Pete Willson.

Kale Roth Dubuque |
8th at the Lower Midwest Regional, Kale Roth won 18 matches.
Nick Nettleton Mount Union |
I was rather shocked when Nick Nettleton didn't place at the Central Regional last season. Just goes to show how tough these regionals can be. A two time Pete Willson 5th placer, Nettleton won 22 matches last year. This included a 3-2 victory over qualifier Jason Rezac & a 19-2 technical fall over Ramiro Guerrero.
Cole Hansen UW-La Crosse |
7th at Pete Willson last season, Cole Hanson won 19 matches on the year. Among them a 10-0 major over Mike Smith.
Nick DeLorenzo Delaware Valley |
Nick DeLorenzo was another super tough wrestler to miss out on a top 8 finish at the Southeast Regional. A MAC runner-up, he nearly teched qualifier Jason Rezac 15-2. He also defeated C.J. Shea 15-5 major decision & Jack Richardson by fall in 5:34.
Kyle Klein SUNY-Cortland |
15 wins on the season last year, Kyle Klein is yet another tough wrestler who came up a bit short of a medal at Regionals. He was also one match shy of a placing at the prestigious Pete Willson. Among his wins an 11-8 victory over Jayden Jones.
Jared Bair York (PA) |
22 wins on the season, Jared Bair was 3rd at the MAC. Had a 6:20 fall over qualifier Jason Rezac.
Zaren Anderson Carthage |
I hope I'm convincing you of how tough it can be to earn a top 8 finish at Regionals. Zaren Anderson is among the best who came up short last season at the Upper Midwest Regional. Among his 26 victories a 10-4 decision over R12'er Tim Smith, a 6:13 fall, as well as a 10-2 major decision over Mike Smith.
Dan Kosinski Scranton |
23 wins on the season for Dan Kosinski who has more than proven himself to be a pinner. A 3:14 fall over qualifier Jaryn Hartranft, he stuck Marek Bush in 33 seconds & C.J. Shea in 34.
Jay Shaull Olivet |
16 wins on the season, Jay Shaull defeated R12'er Jermaine Butler 8-6.
